Chemical Peels for Acne and Hyperpigmentation

Understanding Chemical Peels: Micro Peels &  Medium Depth Peels

At my practice, I specialize in tailored chemical peel services to address various skin concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, texture irregularities, and signs of aging. I’m committed to providing a safe and effective experience for women of all backgrounds and skin tones.

What Are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels involve applying a solution to the skin to exfoliate and promote cell turnover. They can improve skin appearance and texture, making them a popular choice for achieving a radiant complexion.

 Micro Peels

Micro peels are gentle treatments that primarily target the outermost layer of the skin. They are designed to:

– Exfoliate: Remove dead skin cells to reveal a brighter complexion.

– Minimize Pores: Help reduce the appearance of enlarged pores.

– Improve Texture: Smooth out rough patches and enhance skin clarity.

Two popular options I offer in this category are:

– Mandelic Acid Peel: This gentle peel is perfect for clients trying a peel for the first time. It effectively addresses multiple skin concerns, including acne and texture issues.

– Salicylic Acid Peel: A step up from the mandelic acid peel, this more potent solution provides excellent results for acne and texture improvements.

Both of these micro peels can be included in my First and Second Tier Facials, allowing clients to benefit from gentle exfoliation with minimal downtime.

 Medium Depth Peels

Medium depth peels penetrate deeper into the skin, making them more effective for addressing specific concerns:

– TCA Peel: I use a TCA peel to target hyperpigmentation, helping to promote an even skin tone and clear complexion. This modified Jessner’s peel is particularly effective on sun-damaged and thickened skin. It contains a blend of TCA, antioxidants, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, and melanin inhibitors to fade hyperpigmentation, improve texture, and enhance skin radiance. This peel is ideal for oilier, thicker, and more resilient skin types.

The TCA peel is included in my Third Tier Facial, designed for clients seeking more significant improvement in their skin’s appearance.

How to Prep and What to Expect from Your Chemical Peel

  1. Consultation:

Schedule a Jumpstart facial at The Miracle Werker Lash Bar & Esthetics Studio. During your facial, your skin will be analyzed and assessed during treatment.      – Use gentle cleansers and moisturizers leading up to the treatment.

     – Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and harsh scrubs for at least a week prior.

   – Medium Depth Peels:

     – Similar to micro peels, but you may be advised to use specific products containing Tyrosinase inhibitors for several days to a week before the peel to prep your skin.

     – Avoid sun exposure and tanning products.

  1. Health Considerations:

   – Inform your provider about any medications, skin conditions, or allergies.

 Common Experiences During the Peel

   – Micro Peels:

     – You may feel a mild tingling or warmth during the procedure. It’s typically well-tolerated.
